Indonesia Masters Badminton: P.V. Sindhu knocks out in the semifinals

The 26-year-old broke into the semifinals, winning the match, which lasted only 35 minutes.

With the final victory with a score of 21-13, 21-10, the two-time Olympic medalist increased his dominant record against the Turkish shuttle to 4-0.

Shuttler from Hyderabad, who ranks seventh, also defeated Yigita last month at the Danish Open.

And earlier in the previous quarterfinals Sindhu got a brilliant victory from behind against the Spaniard Clara Azurmendi.

For the first time playing with the 47th number in the world of Azurmendi, Sindhu took 47 minutes to record the score 17-21, 21-7, 21-12 in the women’s singles.

But Yamaguchi proved to be a hard nut to crack for Sindhu when the Indian shuttle went 13-21, 9-21 in a 38-minute meeting at the World Badminton Federation (BWF) competition, sanctioned by the World Badminton Federation (BWF), a Super 750 series competition.

Indonesia Badminton Masters: Sindhu and Shrikant reach semifinals with dominant victories

Recently, in the semifinals of the French Open Badminton Championship, Sindhu moved to another Japanese opponent – Sayaka Takahashi.

It was the 20th meeting in the pro-chain between Sindhu and Yamaguchi.

Reaching the semifinals, the Indian, seeded third in the tournament, had a record of 12-7.

But it was Yamaguchi’s day in Indonesia when the Japanese shuttle reduced the head-to-head deficit to 8-12.

Sindhu defeated Yamaguti in the quarterfinals of the Tokyo Games 21-13, 22-20, but it was a time of revenge for the Japanese.

Before reaching the semifinals in Sindhu were relatively easy opponents before meeting the Japanese, who ranks first.

Yamaguchi, who currently ranks third in the BWF rankings, lost to Sindhu in both meetings this year, including the quarterfinals of the Tokyo Games, but it was not the third time for the Indian ace.

Meanwhile, later that day, Kidambi Shrikant went down to Anders Antonsen to lower the curtain in front of the Indian campaign at this edition of the Indonesia Open.

In the 41-minute competition, Shrikant went to balance in the men’s singles semifinals when the Indian shuttle lost 14-21, 9-21 to Antonsen, who will face Kent Momota in the men’s singles final.
