Jobs Fair September 2016

Byron Davies MP has held a Jobs Fair in Partnership with Jobcentre Plus at the Canolfan Gorseinon Centre taking place on Thursday 22nd September 2016.

This is Byron’s fifth employment event over the last two years. Byron has held three employment events as the Member of Parliament for Gower and held two previously, in his role as the Regional Assembly Member for South Wales West.

Byron said:

"I’m very pleased with how successful the Jobs Fair has been. I have spoken to both jobseekers and employers who have got what they were looking for and felt the benefit of the event. We had over 30 employers in attendance, offering a range of full-time and part-time vacancies.

“I spoke to a young man called Daniel, who came to the Jobs Fair looking for an apprenticeship in carpentry. Later in the day I spoke to him again and was delighted to hear that he has an appointment set up to pursue just that on the following Monday. Results like this are commonplace at these events and reinforces just how important it is to provide this kind of support to our local community.

“It's very important to me that jobseekers have the chance to find out about the opportunities available in our area, to network with top recruiters and potentially leave with an interview or new job! The event definitely achieved on providing this and I look forward to providing further support to jobseekers in the future.”
